NOTICE
It is with great sadness that
we report the passing of Evelyn Westerlund, our club treasurer, and the beloved
mother of our president, Arlene.
Obituary as follows:
Ellen "Evelyn" Westerlund
HOPEWELL JUNCTION, NY - Ellen "Evelyn"
Westerlund, 81 years old, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1946, died
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 (very early Wednesday morning, April 23) at St. Luke's
Hospital in Newburgh. She was born January 23, 1927 in the Bronx and was the
daughter of the late Oscar and Tina Alto Kurikjan. Evelyn loved her home and
enjoyed sharing her love with animals. She also loved to go Scandinavian
dancing with her husband and also enjoyed country music. On December 23, 1944
in New York City, she married Ragnar A. Westerlund. Mr. Westerlund predeceased
her on January 3, 1991. Evelyn is survived by her beloved daughter, Arlene
Westerlund of Hopewell Junction. Calling hours were held on Saturday, April 26th
from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Homes, Inc., 900 Rt. 82,
Hopewell Junction, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor John
Young officiating. Burial followed at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. The family
suggests memorial donations may be made to Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet
Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538 in Evelyn's memory.
